Overview

IES and Austin Energy Green Building have teamed up to provide a 1-day building performance analysis workshop immediately following the ASHRAE Building Performance Analysis Conference in Austin, TX. By joining the training session you will learn how to:

  • Calculate accurate and timely heating and cooling loads using the ASHRAE Heat Balance Method
  • Accurately and quickly size HVAC systems using the ASHRAE Heat Balance Method
  • Conduct energy simulation for compliance with energy codes and rating systems including the Austin Energy Green Building rating system
  • Assess condensate capture from cooling coils
  • Estimate water consumption and losses from cooling towers
  • Model thermal comfort in spaces using ASHRAE Standard 55
  • Tips and tricks for how to document results to minimize comments from rating system reviewers and/or code officials

 

Cost

Commerical $200 per person. A light breakfast and coffee will be provided.

What you will need

Attendees are required to bring their own laptop with the most current version of IESVE installed and registered. If you are not currently an IESVE customer, complimentary temporary training licenses will be provided. The workshop is open to anyone, no prior IESVE experience or knowledge is required.
