IES Consulting performed thermal comfort and plant load analysis for an extension to The Berkeley Hotel, Knightsbridge (5 star hotel). The modelling informed that the peak cooling loads were much higher than the peak heating loads and further study strongly suggested that this was due to the high solar gain experienced in the extensions. The thermal comfort calculations and plant load anaylsis were all performed using ApacheSim, part of the Virtual Environment software suite.
