IES Consulting performed overheating and compliance modelling for the Sherbourne student residential blocks at the University of Warwick.

Key Facts

  • EPC Rating A
  • 500+ rooms
  • PV array & district heating technology

IES Consulting were appointed to perform modelling on the 6 Sherbourne student residential blocks on the University of Warwick campus. Sherbourne is the University of Warwick’s newest halls of residence and was completed in 2012; situated in pleasant green surroundings within walking distance to the University’s main campus.

All 6 blocks achieved an A rated EPC through a series of low energy design measures including daylight dimming plus the integration of a PV solar array and connection to the University district heating system.

In addition to the Part L and EPC compliance modelling, IES provided services to assess internal daylighting of the living and bedroom spaces, plus an overheating assessment of the development to confirm suitable comfort conditions in line with the window opening area.
