IES Sync for Revit - New Product

A direct intake from Revit to IES VE. Native transfer, no file translation, data dumps, or model rebuilds

One Model, From Design to Analysis

Every Revit-to-energy project wastes hours rebuilding and fixing models. IES Sync reduces this by around 50%*, preserving design intent, geometry, and energy-relevant data through a native IES connection. It fixes the handover instead of the file, delivering billable hours back on every project.

*compared to a manual workflow with a reference model.

Native, Not a Bridge

Built on IES's shared data intelligence layer - not a third-party plugin, file format, or geometry bridge.

Trustworthy Geometry Transfer

Transparent interpretation and cleaning of the model. Carries all rooms, spaces, voids and plenums at launch.

Guided and Validated

Clear workflow steps with model review and success/failure feedback at each stage.

How It Works

The handover happens in five steps. Your Revit geometry flows into IES with validation checkpoints at each stage, so nothing gets lost in translation.

  • 1. Identify floor plans - select the Revit geometry you want to analyze.
  • 2. Detect rooms & spaces - IES Sync maps and tags your model.
  • 3. Generate analytical model - build the energy geometry automatically.
  • 4. Review & validate - check the model in the IES Sync interface.
  • 5. Sync to the IES VE - ready for compliance, loads, and analysis.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does it work with my current IES VE license?

IES Sync for Revit is a standalone product. You'll need an active IES Sync for Revit and an IES VE license to use the connected platform. Talk to our team about licensing options.

  • Why not just use gbXML or IFC?

File-based transfers consistently lose data and introduce interpretation errors, forcing hours of model rebuilding and eroding confidence in results when turnaround and reputation matter. IES Sync is a direct, native connection — no file translation failures, or complete rebuilds, no guesswork.

  • Is this compatible with the BIM Navigator?

No. The existing BIM Navigator is based on file format transfers which have struggled to deliver a reliable Revit-to-energy analysis workflow at scale. IES Sync is the guided, native successor built specifically to remove that friction, with validated handover and clearer feedback at each step.

  • Does it bring across constructions and materials?

At launch, IES Sync for Revit transfers Geometry only (including voids and plenums); a Constructions & Materials data pack is  likely one of the first data pack addition available within later versions, with beta members voting on what's included. You can populate with thermal data from your IES VE templates and compliance libraries while Version 2 is in development. Speak to your Account Manager if you're interested in signing up for the IES Sync Beta programme.

  • We already use Pollination?

Pollination is a third-party geometry only bridge, that doesn't carry thermal or construction data. IES Sync is native to IES: it carries geometry now (including voids and plenums) and is built to carry energy-relevant data next, on the platform your analysis already runs on.
