IES Expands Geothermal Capabilities Through Partnership with Gaia Geothermal

Today, we’re thrilled to announce a new reseller partnership with Gaia Geothermal, LLC, developer of the Ground Loop Design (GLD) software suite. This exciting new collaboration will enable seamless data exchange for geothermal ground source heat pump system design between Gaia GLD and our powerful IESVE Software platform.

The announcement follows the launch of IESVE 2025 Feature Pack 1, which introduced a range of enhancements to our flagship building performance simulation software. The added integration with Gaia GLD now allows users to model, size, and optimize ground source heat pump systems directly alongside their broader building performance simulations, streamlining workflows, improving accuracy, and accelerating low-carbon design.

Used in more than 70 countries, Gaia GLD is recognized as the leading tool for designing vertical, horizontal, and surface water ground loop systems. Through this new agreement, IES becomes an official reseller of Gaia GLD, offering customers a single point of access for both whole-building performance modeling and geothermal system design.

This bidirectional data-exchange between IESVE Software and Gaia GLD is an ideal and complementary set of design tools that engineers will enjoy for the combined high-performance design of buildings and ground source heat pump systems,” said Liam Buckley, Senior Vice President, IESVE Software.

“By integrating Gaia’s proven design tools into IESVE, we’re giving engineers and designers the ability to evaluate and deliver high-efficiency geothermal solutions faster and with greater confidence,” adds Christy Martell, Senior Vice President, IES North America.

“We’re seeing growing global demand for reliable geothermal design tools,” said Dan Bernstein, President, Gaia Geothermal, LLC. “Through our partnership with IES, more firms can now access Gaia GLD’s advanced functionality directly within their existing workflows, reducing risk, saving time, and improving design accuracy on every project.”
