Introducing IESVE 2025 Feature Pack 1: Smarter, Faster, and More Detailed Building Performance Modelling

We’re delighted to announce the release of IESVE 2025 Feature Pack 1, packed with exciting new features and enhancements to empower engineers, architects, and sustainability consultants to model and optimise building performance with greater accuracy, speed, and flexibility than ever before.

Whether you're striving for zero-carbon, advanced compliance, or high-performance design, VE2025 Feature Pack 1 brings new tools and improvements across multiple workflows – from thermal bridging and HVAC to parametric simulation and material innovation.

Here’s what’s new:

Architecture: Psi/Chi Thermal Bridging Made Easy

Thermal bridging plays a critical role in determining real-world building performance, and with this update, IESVE now makes it easier than ever to model thermal bridges using Psi and Chi values – in addition to existing Y-value and % increase methods. This new capability helps bridge the performance gap, and supports compliance with global codes including NECB, ASHRAE 90.1, and UK Part L.

Parametric Simulation: Greater Speed, Scope & Insight

The VE’s Parametric Simulation feature continues to evolve, and Feature Pack 1 brings significant new capabilities that make early-stage evaluations and multi-scenario design testing faster, more agile, and more insightful.

Armstrong® PCM Ultima Templok® Tile Modelling

Building on the integration of Armstrong® ceiling tiles earlier in VE 2025, this update adds full support for the Templok® Ultima Phase Change Material (PCM) tile, delivering passive thermal energy storage simulation directly within IESVE’s workflow. This exclusive modelling capability supports more accurate comfort and energy simulations for designs integrating Armstrong’s PCM ceiling systems, while enhancing workflow automation and usability.

HVAC & Loads: New Capabilities for Real-World Complexity

Advanced Heat Acquisition & Rejection Coil (HARC) Modelling Made Simple: Feature Pack 1 introduces intuitive HARC system simulation for complex facilities, such as hospitals and laboratories, giving users access to cutting-edge thermal plant modelling without the need for coding or complex workarounds.

Scheduled Loads for Chilled Water Loops (CHWL): Modelling chilled water loops just got easier. You can now represent scheduled loads using real data or design values—just like you can for hot water loops.

Room Load Sizing: Plenum Temperature Offset During Unoccupied Periods: Fine-tune your airside HVAC designs with improved control over plenum temperature behaviour during unoccupied times.

Content Store: More Resources, More Productivity

ApacheHVAC Heat Pump Curve Coefficients Tool: This new spreadsheet tool makes it easy to convert manufacturer data into accurate performance curves for heat pumps in IESVE.

20+ New Tools in the Content Store: Since VE 2025 launched in June, over 20 new tools have been added to the IES Content Store.

The Content Store is the go-to place for shared expertise, time-saving resources, and custom tools to help you work faster and smarter. You can also publish your own tools, generate income, and contribute to the global IESVE community.

Ready to Experience VE2025 Feature Pack 1?

IESVE 2025 Feature Pack 1 is now available to all users with a valid license. This update represents a major leap forward in thermal modelling, HVAC simulation, and energy analysis—bringing you the tools you need to meet modern performance, compliance, and decarbonisation goals.

From detailed thermal bridge assessments and physics-based PCM modelling to advanced central plant systems and parametric flexibility, IESVE continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in building performance simulation.
