Meet Dawn Raciti: Business Development Manager for IES Consulting North America

We’re delighted to introduce Dawn Raciti, who joined IES last year as a Business Development Manager for our consulting division in North America. In this article Dawn shares with us a little about her background and ambitions for her role at IES…

What does your role at IES entail?

My role with IES is to expand the client base for our North American consulting services and to drive business development efforts for this region. As a proactive role, I am supporting these efforts by developing and maintaining key customer relationships, conducting research to better understand the current market in order to identify where IES’ consulting services can help most, and finding leads and moving them through the sales cycle.

Tell us a little about your background and experience.

I have spent the majority of my career working in the A/E industry as an accomplished marketing professional.

My past experience includes working for a full-service engineering firm where I spent 19 years overseeing the day-to-day operations of the marketing department.  No two days were the same.  My tasks ranged from implementing marketing plans, incorporating corporate branding initiatives, executing marketing campaigns, managing the entire proposal process and performing market research to aid in business development activities, with the overall objective of increasing revenue and growth.  This past experience has provided me with an excellent understanding of working with senior management and client-facing decision makers.

How does your role fit into IES’ business growth strategy?

I understand my role is key to the plans for growth in the North America region. I will be working to ensure the market understands that IES offers numerous in-depth analysis options, including and beyond code and LEED. IES can help in so many different ways, and working with such a talented and passionate team, combined with my enthusiasm and passion for what this industry does, will make my role a little more fun.  I will be out there educating designers, builders, owners, and operators that IES can support master planning, central plant planning, net zero energy or carbon projects, dynamic glass analysis, glare analysis, LEED v4.1 projects, WELL projects, more advanced energy code jurisdiction projects, CFD analyses, and so on.

What is your vision for the future of your role?

With a 22-year career in marketing, I was looking for a firm where I feel like my experience can make a difference.  I understand IES has been producing top-quality building simulation software for 25 years and that the leadership of the North American consultancy team has been working in the simulation and sustainability industries ranging from 20 years to over 30 years. I expect this opportunity with IES to be a period of personal development and growth that will enable me to achieve great things.  I look forward to being able to promote the good that IES is doing and to connect new clients with a collaborative and experienced consulting team.
