This spreadsheet utilizes data in a format typically provided by heat pump manufacturers to determine curve coefficients for air-source and water-source heat pump modeling in ApacheHVAC. Heat pumps with heating-only, cooling-only, or heating & cooling capabilities are supported. Inputs are the hot/chilled water supply temperature and source temperature (either outdoor dry bulb or source water), plus either rated power or COP/EER. Either SI or IP units may be selected via dropdown, and can be toggled back and forth at any time with all values updated.
Data is entered in yellow cells. User can compare the evaluated polynomial curve fits with the original input data on the validation tabs and view the curves on the chart tabs prior to copying coefficients into the ApacheHVAC user interface for the Central Plant Heat Pump model.

This version of the Heat Pump Curve Coefficients Spreadsheet tool includes macros. A macro-free version will be offered in the future. If the macros are automatically disabled by your IT policy when you open the spreadsheet, this will disable certain usability features. These include the selective reduction of inputs and spreadsheet tabs and changes in illustrative content on the VE Data Inputs tab when switching the Heat Pump Capability setting. Only the user experience is affected. This does not affect the calculation of curve coefficients. If it is acceptable per your IT department, you may enable the macros in the spreadsheet by right-clicking the file, selecting Properties > General, ticking the "Unblock" checkbox, and clicking Apply.
