David brings a wealth of engineering knowledge to the business with over 35 years’ experience in Global Building Consultancy. His considered approach to energy-efficient design has seen him act as professional adviser to a number of organisations throughout his career including The Scottish Office (Building Regulations), The Scottish Parliament, Financial Institutions, the UK’s National Health Service, Local Authorities, Manufacturers, Building Developers, Building Contractors and Universities. Under David’s guidance, the IES Global Consultancy portfolio has grown from strength to strength. His commitment to driving the industry forward means David is always keen to explore new business models with IES’ customers and partners to build new, mutually beneficial and innovative business partnerships.
Brenda is an expert in sustainability, LEED consulting, energy modeling and commissioning, with nearly 30 years of design experience. Recently awarded LEED Fellow designation, Brenda is also the Chair of the LEED implementation committee and sits on the LEED steering committee.

Colin’s 10+ years experience has evolved from an environmental engineering background always with a focus on building simulation modelling. His global consulting experience covers 6 continents providing low energy and sustainable modelling services.

Mark, with over 10 years experience in the construction industry, has a focus on providing expert LEED services. A certified LEED AP and LEED Reviewer, he is responsible for project management and analysis within North America which includes numerous Platinum and Gold rated developments. Mark is also a member of the EQ Technical Advisory Group.

Mark is a chartered engineer with industry leading knowledge and global experience of performance analysis simulation technology and process implementation at all project stages. This includes from primary masterplanning, concept and detailed design to operational energy audits via integration with smart meter and BMS controls infrastructure. In 2013 Mark was announced as a recipient of the Consulting-Specifying Engineer 40 Under 40 award.

Roger's background is building services engineering consulting and modelling. Most of Roger's consulting work has involved thermal and CFD modelling of buildings, in Australia this has involved, compliance and JV3 assessments as well as Nabers & Greenstar analysis.

Michael has close to 10 years’ experience in the construction industry with particular focus on complex energy modelling and compliance. An accredited LEED AP, his experience includes modelling numerous global projects for green rating systems.

Harshad provides expert CFD consulting having developed from a mechanical engineering background. At IES his global project experience has included consulting on displacement ventilation, data centre energy modelling, heat island effects, clean rooms and particulate dispersion.

Douglas is the IES Project Leader for BIM and has over 10 years of experience across our global projects. Douglas has a degree in product engineering, and with his BIM Accredited Professional status, is leading the IES product development on BIM for Analysis.

Edward is an expert in sustainability, LEED consultancy, and energy modelling with close to 10 years in the construction industry. A certified LEED AP and GSAS CGP, he is responsible for the management and analysis of projects within Europe and the MENA region.

Phil is a Chartered Engineer and CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant with over 30 years of experience in consultancy for the engineering services within the built environment. Phil has a solid understanding of building physics, assisting clients with a practical approach to the demands and challenges faced by modern building design teams.
Eoin has worked in the construction industry as a Mechanical Engineer for 9 years prior to joining IES consultancy team in early 2020. On site experience working on a diverse range of projects including Pharmaceutical, Technology and Food and Beverage Production. With IES Eoin has carried out some Sunlight/Daylight studies using VE software and continue to carry out LEED commissioning activities on various types of projects (incl office, pharmaceutical, warehouse).
Gary holds an Honours Bachelor degree in Building Services Engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology and is a member of the Institute of Engineers Ireland. He has been working for IES since 2007. Gary has worked and is active in the Irish, UK, USA, European, South African and Australian Markets predominantly on the software side of the IES business. With Gary’s in depth technical knowledge and experience of building performance modelling software and building physics in general, he is able to educate professionals on the benefits and use of the Virtual Environment software and work with organisations to identify the correct services and software solutions that IES can offer to their business, ultimately leading the client to marketing differentiation, technical advantage and increased productivity.
Vincent graduated in 1997 with an honours degree in building services engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology. He is a Chartered Engineer and LEED accredited professional.
Vincent has been involved in the energy modelling industry since graduation and has been working with IES for over 22 years, both in supporting large international firms delivering complex designs and working with the IES development team to deliver the software platform to enable such designs. During these years Vincent has acquired vast experience in building simulation modeling and the design and operation of high performance buildings across the world.

As a Chartered Engineer with further LEED AP, Building Energy Modelling and Certified Energy Manager qualifications, Dónal has worked on a vast array of LEED, Part L, Daylight/Sunlight, Overheating, Pedestrian Wind Comfort and Energy Audit projects, using building energy modelling to improve building system design, energy performance and occupant comfort. He has extensive experience of optimising natural daylighting and natural ventilation designs through building façade analysis, and feasibility studies for renewable energy, HVAC retrofits, lighting retrofits and net-zero energy projects. As a qualified Thermal Bridging and Hygrothermal Risk Assessor, he is also able to provide expert advice on how to reduce heat loss at building junctions and reduce both surface and interstitial condensation risk.
James is a Chartered Engineer with Energy Auditing and Energy Assessor qualifications. James has more than 13 years’ experience working within the construction and engineering sectors in Ireland and Australia. Such projects include MEP design, LEED, Part L, Net Zero, Commissioning, NABERS, BREEAM, Overheating and daylighting.
By utilising his vast experience in MEP design, commissioning and building performance modelling James’ expertise to optimise building performance he has contributed to significant energy, carbon and cost reductions on many projects.
Peter has a strong technical background in energy efficient design and energy management. As a Certified Energy Manager with accreditations in commercial BER, ESOS and LEED, Peter has ten years industry experience helping C&I companies improve their energy efficiency and reduce utility costs. Paul joined IES in April 2017 and has over 13 years’ industry experience working in Environmental Sustainable Design in the UK, Australia and Ireland specializing in HVAC design, building energy assessments, thermal modelling and environmental sustainability ratings.

Initially it was assumed that it simply wasn’t possible to achieve a six star Green Star rating in the tropics. However, the modelling from IES was so robust that we were able to refine our strategy to pick up additional innovation credits, enabling us to gain six star world-leadership status from Green Star and generate $450,000 a year in energy savings.
We chose IES because we were looking for a partner that was capable of developing a solution that was credible. We can already attribute over £500k of business to the connection with the VE. I cannot praise IES enough for their professionalism and for the help they’ve given us.
What started out as a relatively simple project became a major engineering challenge, requiring an understanding of the complexity of seven constantly changing environments. Working with IES was like having a second engineer on-hand to help create solutions to highly complex problems.
IES and their VE software proved themselves over a long period during the concept and definition stages of the services design.
