Senior Building Sustainability Project Consultant (HVAC)

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced engineer to join our team, responsible for working on consultancy and research projects; providing expert advice on HVAC systems and contributing to the direction of new software solutions and services.

You will be working on first-of-a-kind consultancy and research projects, problem solving with respect to new software features and testing prototype software. Further, you will provide support and guidance to more junior colleagues and help to shape the service for our clients.

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced engineer who is keen to develop their career with a company at the forefront of building simulation technology.

Essential skills:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Building Physics
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Experience of working with detailed HVAC systems models, running simulations of building and mechanical system design alternatives, and advising clients on the results of those simulations
  • Experience with the IES Virtual Environment software, including ApacheHVAC
  • Clear and confident communications skills.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of building systems, controls and/or modelling of systems is highly desirable
  • Experience of using other building simulation software or related software tools is desirable (e.g. CAD, energy modelling, loads analysis, daylight modelling, solar modelling, HVAC design tools)
  • Experience of BREEAM, LEED and Building Commissioning
