Building Sustainability Project Consultant (HVAC)

Glasgow or other UK locations by agreement

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced engineer to join our UK consultancy team, responsible for modelling complex HVAC projects. You will build detailed HVAC systems models, run simulations of building and mechanical system design alternatives, and advise clients on the results of those simulations. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging, high-profile projects, and will be given the encouragement and support to challenge yourself and develop your career, as part of a unique team of building simulation consultants

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Engineer who is keen to develop their career with a company who is at the forefront of building simulation technology. The successful candidate will research and advise on energy usage within buildings, they will also establish control systems in order to monitor operational efficiency and performance of materials and buildings.

Essential skills:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Building Physics
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems. Experience with the IES Virtual Environment software, including ApacheHVAC
  • Clear and confident communications skills

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of building systems, controls and/or modelling of systems is highly desirable
  • Experience of using other building simulation software or related software tools is desirable (e.g. CAD, energy modelling, loads analysis, daylight modelling, solar modelling, HVAC design tools)
  • Experience of BREEAM, LEED and Building Commissioning
