Assistant Technical Manager


The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an Assistant Technical Manager to join our Consultancy team in our Singapore office.

You will be involved in the application of a new technologies and solutions (ICL solutions) details here on buildings across South East Asia.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Help lead and manage the ICL Asia team
  • Support the ICL team to deliver project work using all ICL tools
  • Prepare demo material for the ICL sales team, support proposals and deliver training if needed
  • Test new software releases
  • Manage projects and ensure sufficient resource availability
  • Mentor, advise and guide junior colleagues, particularly with respect to project management and customer interaction
  • Co-ordinate the completion of projects on time, within budget and scope
  • Provide input to sales and training material as required

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Engineer (min 10 yrs experience) who is keen to develop their career and learn new skills with a company who is at the forefront of building simulation technology. The successful candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

Essential skills:

  • Clear and confident communications skills
  • Project consultancy experience on large-scale, multiple building projects
  • A degree in a relevant discipline such as Building Services Engineering, Building Physics, Architecture, Sustainability Engineering or Urban Design
  • Ability to review, understand and interpret design and construction documentation, including floor plans, engineering schematics and schedules, specifications, shop drawings and operating sequences
  • Understanding of BMS controls and smart metering – a desire to improve knowledge and understanding in this area is essential
  • Knowledge of design, installation and commissioning of building HVAC systems.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience of Project management
  • Knowledge of the Virtual Environment (VE) software or other mechanical design/analysis software. Full training in our technology will be provided
  • Experience of using building simulation software or related software tools is desirable (e.g. CAD, energy modelling, loads analysis, daylight modelling, solar modelling, HVAC design tools)
  • Prior experience in the field of sustainable building design, undertaking analyses such as energy modelling, energy auditing, low energy design, retrofits or retro-commissioning
  • Prior project management experience and proven ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Detailed knowledge of HVAC systems
