The ApacheHVAC module and its integrated coupling with VE-Pro has the ability to analyze both conventional and very complex strategies and systems. Navigating its full power can be significantly enhanced through our training with an experienced expert user.

We will cover the basics of creating HVAC plant and control networks for a building. You will see how to create HVAC networks for subsequent use by ApacheSim, IES’ dynamic thermal simulation module. We will perform dynamic simulations using these networks in ApacheSim and view the results. This day will include an introduction to chillers/ boilers modelling and multiplexing, and you will also be introduced to the waterside graphics feature and other improvements to ApacheHVAC.

Day 2 will build on the skills learned on Day 1 and cover a number of the newer features added to ApacheHVAC. This will include importing from the prototype library as well as a summary of the systems included, and exporting your own custom networks for re-use in future projects. We will cover “auto sizing” for systems, enabling users to size systems accordingly even at the early concept stages.
This version includes a graphical interface for waterside components. You will familiarise yourself with operating and navigating this system. A large number of additional waterside results are recorded during simulation and this training session will demonstrate the range of variables and how they can be interrogated, and the value this can add to your projects.
