IES Launch Significantly Enhanced Operational Building Modelling Tool

By Suzanne Wallace on Tuesday 30 October 2018

Newest version of IES-ERGON tool is at the cutting-edge of digital engineering solutions for Existing Buildings

IES has launched a new version of its IES-ERGON tool, which now enables VE Engineers to undertake operational modelling of buildings using data from building management systems, meters and sensors, alongside real weather data. Unlocking the value within operational data, IES-ERGON takes the effort out of creating operational and calibrated energy models of existing buildings.

Introduced in 2014, the 2018 version of IES-ERGON has significant enhancements, which include; the ability to compare measured data against simulated data and undertake model calibration, a seamless two-way sync between ERGON and the IESVE, new plots in ERGON for improved initial data interrogation, and the ability to import real weather data.

The operational modelling functionality enabled by IES-ERGON allows engineers and consultants to offer additional services including:

-    Deliver enhanced retrofit services that incorporate virtual ‘what if’ testing
-    Enable data-driven building optimisation services that save their clients money and reduce energy consumption
-    Easily add-on measurement and verification services that prove projects have delivered on modelled savings
-    And Deliver buildings that operate significantly closer to design intention

Access to the new version of IES-ERGON is available now. Offered as a low cost subscription, VE users can add it on to their IESVE License. With flexible one month or twelve month subscription options, it means you can pick up and use IES-ERGON for one project or across the year depending on individual requirements. Included FREE with purchases, is our on-demand learning session, which will cover practically how you can use IES-ERGON in a variety of situations to deliver additional operational data based services to your clients. A new range of supporting materials have also been created, including getting started videos, FAQs and practical demos which cover the basics.
