Modelling and optimisation in Baku

Recently, our Business Development Manager Guy Eames was asked to present at an event on Building Performance Modelling in the Fairmont Flame Towers Hotel in Baku. The hotel was modelled using the IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) and boasts many sustainability features.

Having the backdrop of Baku’s most prestigious and iconic “Flame Towers” landmark, the event attracted a large crowd of architects, facility managers, engineers and government officials, keen to learn more about the benefits of building modelling and performance analysis.

Guy’s presentation demonstrated the benefits of using the IESVE to analyse comfort and potential energy conservation measures in the hotel itself. Guy Eames from IES was accompanied by Evgeny Teslya from Bureau of Technics, who carried out the IESVE modelling. The event was organised and moderated by Fuad Bagirov, the CEO of the AZGBC (Azerbaijan Green Building Council).

“Azerbaijan is now looking for the next ‘must have’ tools for engineering and design – Building Modelling and BIM are currently hot topics”, Guy Eames commented.

“Case studies like Fairmont at the Flame towers are important for the developing the market here in Baku. We’re proud to have such partners and grateful to IES for supporting the event”, Fuad Bagirov commented.
